The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that the Corporate Average Fuel Economy of automotive fleets will increase from 31mpg (or ~7.6L/100km) in 2016 to 46.3mpg (or ~5.1L/100km) by 2025.* This forecast, coupled with the recent enforcement of rigorous global emissions regulations, has given rise to automotive innovations. Manufacturers have been downsizing, turbocharging, lightweighting, and reducing evaporative emissions in an effort to meet the new regulatory demands.
With global vehicle production projected to increase by 25% by 2021, global demand for fluoroelastomers is expected to follow.
